At the advice of a nutritionist, I have begun a small experiment — one meal/day at a time — to eliminate some major items from my diet. Nothing crazy (though Clarks are notoriously bad at moderation), but hey, what could be the harm in eating less gluten and/or casein?
With that in mind, I’ve starting looking for some of the best resources for this slightly alternative diet (and so far I’ve noticed it’s not too easy, even in California) and here are a few I think are great:
TriumphDining / gluten-free restaurants and food
Karina’s kitchen / gluten-free recipes from a gluten-free goddess herself
GlutenFreeRecipes.net / gluten-free and casein-free recipes
Got more to add? Let me know.

There's a great Vietnamese restaurant in the Castro called Zadin that has GF menu items and GF beer!!! http://www.zadinsf.com/
My favorite combo is Imperial Rolls + Pho Bo + GF Beer.
WHOA. GF beer?! And it's good?
I think so. I'm not much of a beer drinker but my husband likes it. It's called Redbridge.
There's an amazing amount of gluten free stuff at whole foods. We had a client with a gluten allergy, so we ordered GF stuff for meals and snacks. In the process I've gotten hooked on some GF crackers called 'Mary's Gone Crackers' that are really good.
Ooooh. I love those. Thanks Larry!
It's a great time to be gluten free, there are more things offered all the time. Are you casein free too? We are on a gfcf diet here at my house with a family of 7. It takes work, but it is doable.
Mother's Market carries a lot and Henry's Marketplace. Whole foods has the most to offer.
